Why you’ll love it

  • Cooked apple & cinnamon warmth
  • Dark chocolate depth & toffee finish
  • Historic “Cup of Java” origin, Mount Ijen heritage
Story

Java Ijen coffee has centuries of heritage. Arabica was first planted in Java in the late 1600s by the Dutch VOC, and “a cup of Java” became synonymous with coffee in Europe. The Besoeki region around Mount Ijen, 1,000–1,800 masl, has long been known for quality Arabica. Today Alfa Jaya Indonesia, founded by Fuad Fahmi, works with farmer organisations led by Mr Andi, improving agroforestry systems, adopting organic practices, and partnering internationally. Together they continue Java’s tradition of exporting high-quality Ijen coffee to the world.

Process

Fully washed process. Red cherries are floated and sorted, pulped, and fermented in water for 17–30 hours. The parchment is washed, sun-dried to 12–13% moisture, rested, then hulled. This creates a smooth, clean cup with supporting lactic acidity and sweet depth.
