Story


Sidney Kibet cultivates SL28 and Batian varieties between 1,400 and 2,000 masl in Western Kenya’s Homa Bay County. His lots are processed by Misadhi Coffee, whose focus on quality and traceability helps smallholders achieve direct-trade recognition. This AB lot highlights Kenya’s evolving regions beyond the Central Province, bright fruit, clean structure and precision processing.

Process

Traditional washed method:

  • Selective hand-picking & floatation to remove defects
  • Pulping followed by wet fermentation in tanks
  • Washed in channels then soaked in clean water for clarity
  • Slow sun drying on raised beds with careful turning and cover from rain

    Result: crisp, bright cup with refined fruit and refreshing finish.
