A sweet and approachable natural coffee from the Rwenzori Mountains of western Uganda. Produced using the traditional DRUGAR (Dried Ugandan Arabica) method, this lot offers a rich and comforting cup with notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar and ripe plum.
Rounded, smooth and gently nutty, it’s an easy-drinking coffee that works beautifully for espresso and milk-based brews while still offering enough complexity to enjoy as a single origin.

Why you’ll love it
- Classic chocolate profile
- Natural Ugandan sweetness
- Great for espresso
Story
African Moon comes from the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda, a region where coffee farming has supported local communities for generations.
The coffee is sourced through Agri Evolve, an organisation founded in 2016 to create reliable markets for coffee producers while improving processing quality in the region. By investing in modern processing facilities and working closely with farmers, they have helped improve both quality and income stability.
Today, Agri Evolve provides a trusted buying point for farmers across the region, paying consistent and fair prices for their coffee while supporting improvements in production practices.
Process
Natural (DRUGAR – Dried Ugandan Arabica)
- Ripe cherries harvested by smallholder farmers
- Whole cherries dried naturally in the sun
- Traditional patio drying methods used across the region
- Milling and grading once stable moisture is reached
This natural drying process creates the rich chocolate sweetness and rounded body typical of Ugandan DRUGAR coffees.
Sustainability & Packaging
Coffee from the Rwenzori Mountains is largely produced by smallholder farmers who rely on coffee as a key source of income. Agri Evolve works closely with producers in the region, providing reliable buying structures and fair prices for their coffee.
Through investment in modern processing equipment, training and demonstration farms, the organisation helps farmers improve quality and consistency while maintaining the traditional DRUGAR natural processing method used throughout the region.
